ANGEL STRAWBRIDGE FIGHTS BACK TEARS AS SHE AND HUSBAND DICK ANNOUNCE 'END OF AN ERA'

Dick and Angel Strawbridge have declared that it's the "end of an era" as their eldest child, Arthur, 11, gears up for his last week at primary school. On the latest episode of their podcast, Dick and Angel's Chat... Eau, the mother-of-two revealed it had been "quite an exciting week", which led her husband to add: "We have come to the end! It is the end of an era within the family."

The thought brought Angel close to tears however, as she chimed in: "Oh don't make me cry, I'm in a good place."

Dick then fondly recalled the final days of school when children could finally unwind and enjoy their summer holidays with family.

Explaining what had stirred their emotions, she continued: "I think that we are at the end of that kind of vibe and it has been incredible. This is the last week of school."

Dick chimed in: "Arthur's last week in the primary school in the village! If you watched Escape to the Chateau you would have seen mummy taking her three year-old-along," reports the Express.

He added: "He learnt how to ask to go to the toilet and that is the only French that he spoke, mummy took her little boy along and gave him to the class. Arthur was the biggest by a long way!".

Dick also shared with listeners his vivid memory of his wife having "tears running down" her face as she waved her little boy off into his class for the first time.

After reminiscing, she returned to the present and informed fans that a "big party" was happening at the school to mark the end of this chapter.

The couple have shared their journey with viewers through nine heartwarming seasons of Channel 4's Escape to the Chateau, which came to an end in 2022.

The love story that captured the hearts of millions began at a party in 2010, which led to the arrival of their son Arthur three years on, and later, their daughter Dorothy.

Angel, who first found success on Dragons' Den, opened up about her whirlwind romance with Dick last month while she was a guest on Elizabeth Day's How To Fail podcast.

She confessed: "I genuinely never met somebody who I knew was the one and I just had a busy life. And I just thought well if you're really the one, I haven't got time."

Their first meaningful exchange happened not at their initial meeting but at a subsequent event where Dick's culinary skills were the talk of the night.

Angel reminisced about that pivotal evening, adding: "We just sat and talked after him cooking for this huge big party of guests.

"Everyone wanted to talk to Dick, to congratulate him and talk about the food and he just came and sat next to me and we just talked all night."

She added: "He's so passionate about life, about everything. He's a story teller and he's got a certain energy."

Elaborating on his compelling presence, Angel continued: "Honestly, even now he's got this aura about him of authority. It makes my hairs go on end, he's a very strong, powerful man, that is very kind as well and he'll do anything for anyone."
