DO YOU HEAR THE PEOPLE SING? MUSICAL CONCERT IS COMING TO MANILA

Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg’s celebrated musical revue, Do You Hear the People Sing?, is making its way back to Manila for a two-night fundraising event on August 2 and 3 at Newport Performing Arts Theater in Pasay. This concert honors the prolific duo responsible for some of the most beloved musicals of all time, including Les Misérables and Miss Saigon. Attendees can expect an unforgettable evening filled with timeless music and a chance to support a meaningful cause.

What to Expect at the Musical Concert Do You Hear the People Sing?

Do You Hear the People Sing? pays tribute to Boublil and Schönberg's illustrious career, featuring beloved numbers from Les Misérables and Miss Saigon as well as selections from Martin Guerre, The Pirate Queen, and their debut collaboration, La Révolution Française. Fans will be treated to renditions of classics such as "I Dreamed a Dream," "The Movie in My Mind," "On My Own," "One Day More," and "The American Dream."

An impressive roster of international theatre stars will headline the event:

  • Abigail Adriano and Nigel Huckle, who starred in the Philippine production of Miss Saigon 2024
  • Bradley Jaden, renowned for his portrayal of Javert in the West End production of Les Misérables
  • Amy Manford, the acclaimed Australian-American soprano known for her role as Christine Daaé in The Phantom of the Opera

The concert's proceeds will benefit the Upskills+ Foundation, a non-profit organization founded by British philanthropist Jane Walker MBE. It builds on the success of the 2014 staging of Do You Hear the People Sing?, which raised funds to rebuild over 200 homes affected by Typhoon Yolanda, also at Newport Performing Arts Theater.
