SHARON CUNETA RETURNS TO ABS-CBN FOR UPCOMING SERIES

Sharon Cuneta is set to make her teleserye comeback under ABS-CBN’s Dreamscape Entertainment, although details of her upcoming project are still kept under wraps.

Cuneta was welcomed at the media giant’s office in a red-carpet rollout event on Wednesday, July 3, where she was welcomed by ABS-CBN chief operating officer Cory Vidanes, Star Magic head Laurenti Dyogi, as well as Dreamscape heads Kylie Manalo-Balagtas and Rondel Lindayag.

The actress-singer’s upcoming series is tagged as her “Mega” comeback after a two-year break, with her co-stars, series’ storyline, and premiere dates still kept “top secret.”

“‘Yung makakasama ko ay isang mahal na mahal ko. Hindi na kayo magugulat kapag nalaman niyo. ’Yung iba naman, first time kong makakasama. More than anything, it’s me being back in my home station (I will work with someone whom I really love. You won’t be surprised when his/her identity is revealed. I will be working with other actors for the first time as well. More than anything, it’s me being back in my home station),” Cuneta told ABS-CBN News, as uploaded on its YouTube channel.

“Who wants to be anywhere but home? They’re such a big part of my professional and personal history,” she continued.

One of the reasons why Cuneta took a break from doing teleserye work is her health, particularly with her hip injury. “Health matters but it’s manageable now,” she said of her condition.

Aside from her teleserye comeback, the actress-singer is busy with her daughter Miel who’s set to fly to the US for college.

“I went through it with KC, I went through it with Frankie,” she said. “I don’t mind getting old, but I mind my children growing up. I mean, they’ve grown up so fast and it’s just going to get quicker.”

Cuneta’s last TV project was “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” in 2022, where she took on the role of First Lady. Aurora Guillermo-Hidalgo. Meanwhile, her recent film project was the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2023 entry “Family of Two” with Alden Richards.

The actress-singer previously said she is a “free agent” in March 2023, and is ready to accept many offers.
