SZA BREAKS SILENCE AFTER GLASTONBURY PERFORMANCE WITH HEARTBREAKING POST

SZA has spoken out after fans feared she had amassed a small than average Pyramid Stage crowd as she closed Glastonbury on Sunday.

The American singer-songwriter was the final main-stage headliner of the iconic festival. Over the weekend 210,000 music lovers flocked to Somerset's Worthy Farm for a five-day party. Following in the footsteps of Dua Lipa and Coldplay, it was expected that the 34-year-old US artist would give revellers the chance to wind down their weekend.

However fans of the musician, whose real name is Solána Imani Rowe, felt she didn't attract as large a crowd as usual for a main-stage with viewers at home noticing vast spaces in the audience compared to the previous nights.

Now, in view of her 21.1 million followers on Instagram, the pop star has now spoken out about her performance. SZA admitted she had been incredibly nervous to perform and her anxiety left her shaking on stage.

Speaking after her performance she told fans: "I was legit shaking lmao but we made it." Speaking to the crowd before wrapping her performance, the musician said: "Glastonbury, I was so nervous to be here with you today. I'm so grateful, you have my deepest love and my deepest respect. I love you always, god bless you. Get home safely, my name is SZA, good night."

But before her performance, she faced several issues as she began her set 15 minutes later than expected. She appeared on stage on an elevated podium to perform the intro to her hit PSA. She was then lowered down to the stage which was adorned with elaborate pillars and a large insect, which she sat on for one number. She asked her assembled fans: "Do I have any day ones in the crowd?"

She also performed hits including F2F, I Hate U and Kiss Me More, her collaboration with Doja Cat. She appeared in a patterned body suit and flat boots with neon laces that ran up to her thighs. SZA brandished two swords during her rendition of her track Kill Bill on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury. The musician showed off her samurai skills for the track, which takes its name from the Quentin Tarantino film starring Uma Thurman.

While her performance was being broadcast by the BBC, fans flocked to X, formerly known as Twitter to voice their concerns about the crowd. One said: ""The Pyramid Stage looks empty :(, thought was a strange one having SZA on the Sunday especially, hope she puts on the performance of the festival! #Glastonbury." Another added: "oh dear.... not a very big showing for Sza. #Glastonbury." Someone else commented: "Is it the @bbcglasto camera angles I’m seeing or is the #PyramidStage pretty quiet @glastonbury. I don’t know @sza but sad to see it so quiet on the last day."

Despite the smaller crowd, it appears to have been a pretty lucrative weekend for the star, as she would have picked up around £200,000 for her Glastonbury headline set.
