ALEXANDER STEWART HIGHLIGHTS VIRAL HITS IN NEW ALBUM

Canadian singer-songwriter Alexander Stewart's debut album "bleeding heart" contains hit tracks "blame's on me" and "i wish you cheated," which gained global attention on multiple platforms.

Stewart has over 6.3 million followers on TikTok, 4.5 million monthly listeners on Spotify, and 2.6 million subscribers on YouTube.

Following the release of his album, Stewart imparted his perspectives as a musician, his latest album, and upcoming projects.

He revealed that he practiced singing at an early age, transitioning from church choirs to classical.

"I bought Sam Smith's debut album, 'In the Lonely Hour,' that inspired me to start making music," Stewart revealed.

Describing his sound, he specifically mentioned "emotional, colorful, and healing," also expressing that it stems from his personal experiences while aiming to ease his listeners' loneliness.

When asked about his creative process when composing new music, Stewart disclosed that it starts with a feeling.

He emphasized how profoundly in touch he is with his emotions, which urges him to promptly begin writing in the studio, adding, "I start with a melody and make that melody sound like how I'm feeling, and write the lyrics after."

Naturally, the singer revealed he felt the pressure before releasing new music earlier in his career. Nevertheless, he eventually felt reassured and thrilled to deliver new projects after realizing his audience supported his music.

"Bleeding Heart" features 12 tracks reflecting the musician's life in the past three years.

"I picked the songs carefully from the last three years of songwriting. I wanted my debut album to be a wide selection of my life," he stated.

When asked to choose a track as the easiest to release among the others, Stewart selected "proud of me," stating, "It's the most introspective song on the album and has the most truth about how I'm feeling in my personal life, and it was liberating to write and release."

Besides, Stewart also shared a fascinating back story, describing how his trip with his family inspired him to write the song.

"I wonder if the kid (me) who used to come here every summer growing up would be proud of everything I've done since."

On the other hand, "if you only knew" and "reflection" hold the title for being some of his most meaningful songs. "Those songs are about personal moments and struggles for me. I'm a huge advocate for mental health, and those songs highlight that part of my life," Stewart shared.

The singer-songwriter hopes his listeners find solace through his music, "I want them to feel even 1-percent less alone in what they are going through."

Recounting his growth since his career began, he mentioned, "Writing this music and reflecting on my life in such an introspective way changed how I view almost everything."

Apart from this, he relishes the opportunity to perform for his audience, "Playing live and screaming these songs with people is one of the most beautiful experiences ever." Thoughtfully, he shared his perspective on what defines a remarkable musician, asserting that if an individual is passionate in their craft, he considers them as a successful musician.

After being named as one of Spotify's Pop Rising Artists to Watch in 2024, Stewart humbly responded, "It's truly an honor. I used to listen to that playlist every day walking to school a decade ago, and to be recognized by Spotify this way is insane, I cried."

Significantly, the singer-songwriter divulged what he wishes people realize is that he is also figuring it out as he goes, claiming, "When I say I make music to help others feel less alone, that includes myself!"

While the artist is touring North America, the UK, and Europe, listeners can expect new projects from Stewart, "There is so much more music to come, and I'm so excited to put it out!"

One of which is the release of his latest single "life at first sight" last June 21. Stewart wrote and performed the song for his sister's wedding and surprised her with it at his hometown show in Toronto. Since then, videos of Alexander teasing the song have accrued over 20 million views across his TikTok and Instagram.

"When I was writing 'life at first sight,' I never imagined it would have a life beyond being a sweet surprise for my sister on her big day," he shared. "But when I started playing it on tour and saw how it moved the crowd, I realized that this song could be the soundtrack for so many other people's big life moments and knew I had to put it out."
