GRANTCHESTER FANS MOAN 'NOT A GOOD WAY TO TREAT FANS' AFTER SERIES NINE SPOILERS LEAK

Granchester fans are up in arms after series nine spoilers were mistakenly revealed online.

The beloved ITV drama concluded its eighth season in February, leaving viewers on tenterhooks for the next instalment featuring Robson Green and Tom Brittney. However, the excitement turned to frustration for many British fans when they inadvertently encountered spoilers on the internet, as Granchester airs earlier in the US.

Disgruntled fans took to platforms like X and Facebook to voice their annoyance at the blunder. One viewer angrily posted: "Shouldn't there be a spoiler alert, this hasn't aired on British TV."

Another added their two cents, saying: "Not a good way to treat loyal fans.", reports the Express. A fellow fan expressed empathy: "This happens to us all the time, know how you feel."

Meanwhile, another helpful user pointed out where to catch the new episodes. They penned: "I watched on PBS."

To add to the dismay, the upcoming series will mark Tom Brittney's final bow as Reverend Will Davenport. Tom's character won over audiences since his debut in 2019 alongside Robson's Geordie.

At the close of last year, Tom revealed his decision to step away from his role to pursue new opportunities. He expressed: "I've had the most incredible time playing Will Davenport for the last five years."

"I got to solve crimes with my best friend, and work with the best cast and crew I could ever ask for. I'll miss it more than anything. But it's time for the baton to be passed, as it once was to me, and I'm so excited for Rishi to join the Grantchester family."

While Tom prepares to say his goodbyes to the series, actor Rishi Nair is gearing up to enter the scene as the charming Vicar Alphy Kotteram. Audiences may well recognise him from his stint on the popular soap Hollyoaks and ITV's Count Abdulla.

The ninth season of Grantchester made its debut on Sunday 16th June on PBS at 9pm Eastern time, 8pm Central time stateside. However, reports suggest that fans in the UK might have to hold out until next year to catch it.
