JULIA LOUIS-DREYFUS SHARES FAVORITE ADVICE SHE HAS GOTTEN FROM CELEBRITY WOMEN ON HER PODCAST (EXCLUSIVE)
The acclaimed actor stars in the A24 film 'Tuesday,' which is now playing in theaters
Julia Louis-Dreyfus has interviewed dozens of female celebrities on her podcast — but one piece of advice has resonated the most.
While promoting her latest film Tuesday, the 63-year-old actress tells PEOPLE the most common words of wisdom that she’s heard from her celebrated podcast guests is to “do things that scare you.”
Louis-Dreyfus, an 11-time Emmy Award-winner, is the host of the podcast Wiser Than Me, where she interviews “iconic older women." Though she says she’s received lots of insightful nuggets from her guests over the podcast’s two seasons, she’s heard a recurring piece of advice from the women on her show: “Challenge yourself, and do things that give you a butterfly feeling.”
“That’s what I did with this movie, by the way,” the Veep alum tells PEOPLE, referencing her A24 film, which started its theatrical run in June. Tuesday stars Louis-Dreyfus as a mother who is guided by Death, portrayed as a talking bird, as she grapples with her daughter’s terminal illness.
And Louis-Dreyfus is pushing herself in other ways as well: She tells PEOPLE that she recently wrapped filming on the upcoming Marvel picture Thunderbolts, where she is set to reprise her role as the slippery Valentina Allegra de Fontaine after she made small appearances in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
“When you’re in the Marvel Universe, you have to sign an NDA every three-and-a-half minutes, which I did,” the Seinfeld star jokes. “So, therefore, that’s all I can tell you for fear of being executed by the Marvel Universe.”

But while Louis-Dreyfus has been hard at work, she’s also excited for a well-deserved break later this year.
“I'm looking forward to having some downtime with my family,” she says, adding that she’s working on plans for a summer vacation in the next few weeks. “I'm looking forward to having some time to maybe just read a book and have a nice cup of coffee.”
