CASUALTY STAR GETS MARRIED AS CO-STAR GUEST SHARES CAST PHOTO FROM CELEBRATION

Casualty cast members were among the guests at a co-star's wedding over the weekend, with the group posing together whilst at the special occasion in Newcastle.

Sammy Dobson, 37 - who plays junior doctor Nicole Piper on the BBC medical drama - tied the knot with her partner, Chappy, in her home city on Saturday. The newlyweds are understood to have been joined by family and friends for celebrations at Summerhill Bowling Club Pavilion & Gardens.

Guests included Melanie Hill, 62, who made her debut as clinical nurse manager Siobhan McKenzie on Casualty earlier this year. Anna Chell, 27, and Sarah Seggari, 28, who play Jodie Whyte and Rida Amaan respectively, were also in attendance.

Sammy shared the news with her three thousand followers on Instagram recently. She included a black and white photo from the nuptials, which showed the bride walking down the aisle towards the groom, whilst guests stood up.

Alongside the photo, she wrote: "I got married yesterday. And it was magical. Thank you so much to everyone who came and made it such a fun and joyous day." Sammy added in the accompanying caption: "Thank you to everyone for all of their help in making it happen. And thank you to [Chappy] for saying yes."

Some guests also shared content from the wedding, including Sammy's co-star Melanie. She shared a photo of the bride alongside herself, Anna, Sarah and another colleague, Lexie, whilst at the wedding just a few days ago. Melanie - who recently addressed her future on Casualty - said in the caption: "The LASSES and beautiful bride [Sammy]. Happy day."

She wasn't alone in commenting on the nuptials, with other guests who shared photos having also reacted to the day. One person wrote on the platform: "Magical day with the most beautiful couple." Whilst another described it as a "beautiful wedding".

The wedding over the weekend comes seven months since Sammy announced her engagement to her partner in a previous post on her Instagram account. She shared the news of the proposal on the platform in November last year.

The actor shared photos of herself and her then-fiancé posing in front of Wellington Arch in London, with her showcasing the engagement ring in one of them. The couple appeared to have got engaged at the landmark in the city.

One photo shared by Sammy showed Chappy down on one knee as she stood in front of him beside the monument. She teased in the caption that another tourist "even caught" the proposal in the background of a photo at the location.

Sammy - who made her debut on Casualty earlier this year - told her followers at the time: "We're bloody engaged! The end to a lovely weekend in London, and an American tourist even caught it in the background of a photo."
