JENNA COLEMAN'S NEW BBC DRAMA THE JETTY RELEASE DATE AND FULL CAST LIST ANNOUNCED

BBC's new "electrifying" drama, The Jetty, features Doctor Who's Jenna Coleman as Detective Ember Manning. The crime drama will see Jenna's character investigating a case that threatens to expose her past.

Last week, BBC released a trailer for The Jetty, giving viewers their first glimpse of Jenna as Ember. In the brief clip, Ember is seen sternly warning someone over the phone to stay away from her daughter, before breaking down in tears.

The series, penned by Cat Jones, revolves around a fire in a picturesque Lancashire lake town. Detective Ember Manning must figure out how it links to a podcast journalist probing a missing person's cold case.

As Ember edges closer to the truth, it threatens to shatter her life, compelling her to reassess everything she thought she knew about her past, present, and the town she has always considered home. The Jetty, as much a coming-of-age story as a detective thriller, poses significant questions about sexual morality, identity, and memory, in the aftermath of the Me Too movement, reports the Express.
